For almost a decade, Shea has worked tirelessly as a program manager, organizer, and educator with a range of organizations fighting for social and environmental justice – including Code for Canada, the David Suzuki Foundation, Organize BC, and OpenMedia. Most recently, she ran Civic Hall Toronto, a program that brings together people from across sectors and empowers them to use tech, data, and design to address civic challenges. Originally from the West Coast, Shea moved east to do her Master’s in Adult Education & Community Development at the University of Toronto.
Shea is driven by the climate crisis and is passionate about combatting inequality and oppression in all its insidious forms. When not at work, you can find Shea puttering at home cooking and gardening, running in the woods, or on Lake Ontario, trying her best to sail.
